Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Seminary's course platform at classes.siratca.org (the "Portal") and the courses, programs, and materials offered through it by Seminary for Insight, Research, and Transformation ("the Seminary," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, enrolling in a program, or otherwise using the Portal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Portal.
Effective July 01, 2026
Who We Are
The Seminary is an independent, faith-based educational institution in California. The Portal is our online learning environment, where we deliver courses, workshops, and related materials. These Terms apply to everyone who creates an account on the Portal or participates in a program delivered through it.
Accounts and Registration
To enroll in a course or access most content on the Portal, you must create an account. When you register, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep it current. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Your account is for your personal use. Do not share your credentials or allow others to access courses through your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, notify us promptly at contact@siratca.org.
Age
The Portal is intended for adults. If you are under 18, you may use the Portal only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, and any payment must be made or authorized by an adult.
Our Courses and Content
We offer educational courses, workshops, and programs, along with related materials, delivered online through the Portal and, where applicable, in person. We may add, change, or discontinue courses, and we may update the content of the Portal and our materials, at our discretion.
Enrollment and Payment
When you enroll in a paid course, the fee is stated at the time of enrollment. Payment is processed through a third-party payment processor; we do not receive or store your full payment card details. Enrollment is confirmed once payment is received. By enrolling, you authorize the applicable charge for the course or plan you have selected. You are responsible for providing accurate registration and billing information.
Refunds
If you wish to withdraw from a course, you may request a full refund up to seven (7) days before the course start date. We are unable to offer refunds once a course has begun. In cases of documented emergency or exceptional circumstance, refund requests will be considered at our discretion. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. To request a refund, contact us at contact@siratca.org.
Access to Course Materials
When you enroll, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to access and use the course materials for your own learning for the applicable enrollment period. Course materials, including video, text, and downloadable resources, remain the property of the Seminary or its licensors. You may not copy, record, download (except where a download option is expressly provided), distribute, sell, publish, or create derivative works from course materials, and you may not share access with anyone else. Your access to a course may end when the enrollment or program period concludes.
Certificates
Some programs offer a certificate of completion recognizing participation and completed work. These certificates acknowledge engagement with the material. They are not academic degrees, professional licenses, or credentials, and they do not certify professional qualification.
Community and Participant Content
Some courses include discussion areas or other features where you may post comments, questions, or other content. You retain ownership of what you post, and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and use that content for the purpose of operating the Portal and delivering the program. You are responsible for the content you post, and you agree not to post anything unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or infringing. We may moderate, remove, or restrict content or participation that violates these Terms or disrupts the learning environment.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Portal lawfully and respectfully. You agree not to disrupt the Portal or its security, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account or system, misuse other participants' information, scrape or harvest content, share your account, or use the Portal or its materials in any way that infringes the rights of others or violates these Terms.
Intellectual Property
All content provided through the Portal, our courses, and our materials, including text, images, video, curriculum, and the Seminary's names and marks, is owned by the Seminary or its licensors and is protected by law. Except for the limited license granted above, we grant you no rights in our content. You may not copy, distribute, sell, publish, or create derivative works from our materials without our written permission.
Educational Purpose; Not Professional Advice
Our programs and materials are offered for educational and spiritual formation purposes. They are not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, mental health, legal, or financial advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our spiritual care and counseling education prepares participants to serve alongside, not in place of, licensed professionals, and nothing we offer should be relied upon as licensed clinical care. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, contact a qualified professional or emergency services.
Third-Party Services and Availability
The Portal is delivered through a third-party learning platform, and payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or availability of third-party services. We aim to keep the Portal available and functioning, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, and we are not liable for interruptions or unavailability resulting from causes outside our reasonable control.
Disclaimers
The Portal and our programs are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Portal will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Seminary and its founders, directors, faculty, staff, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Portal or our programs. Our total liability for any claim relating to a program will not exceed the amount you paid for that program.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Seminary and its founders, directors, faculty, staff, and affiliates from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Portal or our programs.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account or access to a course if you violate these Terms, misuse the Portal, or engage in conduct that harms other participants or the Seminary. Where a paid course is affected, any refund will follow the Refunds section above. You may stop using the Portal at any time.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Portal or our programs after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
